Characterization of the surface and pasted composite materials using contact angle and roughness measurement, measurement of film thickness, light microscopy, REM/EDX and spectroscopic methods

Contact angle and roughness measurement

The modified wetting behavior after surface pre-treatment is determined by measuring the contact angle of different liquids on the pre-treated surface. Profile, roughness and non-destructive thickness measurements of 3D surfaces according to ISO 25178 for non-contact measuring methods are performed using a confocal laser scanning color microscope or applying the principle of laser triangulation. Surface characterization is possible for opaque materials as well as for transparent measuring objects.

Light microscopy, REM/EDX and spectroscopic methods

To characterize the surface we apply light-and electron microscopical methods as well as, together with other research groups, XPS and electro-mechanical methods.
