Adsorbents selection.

The multi-adsorption system from SEMPA allows to record breakthrough curves for various types of porous adsorbents (activated carbons, zeolites, metal-organic framework compounds, etc.) under customized measurement conditions. Thereby, the suitability of a material for the adsorption of certain pollutant gases can be identified. Gas breakthrough can be determined gas-dependently using different technologies. Thus, simultaneous detection of up to four gases is possible even at very low concentrations, allowing the competitive behavior of different gases during adsorption on a material to be assessed. Furthermore, conditioning of the gas stream or the gas mixture with moisture is possible.

Specification

  • Volume flow: max. 5000 ml/min
  • Sample type to be analyzed: fine powders to bulk material (particle diameter up to 1 mm)
  • Detection: FT-IR, mass spectrometer or electrochemical sensors
  • Measuring temperature: room temperature

Applications

  • Determination of the absorption capacity of functional materials for specific test gases
  • Determination of dynamic parameters (breakthrough time)
  • Kinetic analysis of the breakthrough behavior of gas mixtures
  • Analysis of the competitive behavior between toxic gases and moisture on the adsorbent
