- Understanding structural details, which determine their properties, allows the further development of processes to manufacture crack-free surface zones
- Reducing or avoiding the formation of titanium nitride opens up the possibility to achieve high long-term fatigue resistance, which makes the process applicable to cyclically highly loaded parts
