Chemical surface technology
To treat large area surfaces and to coat materials at atmospheric pressure the Fraunhofer IWS offers a broad palette of liquid and gas phase processes. The most important technologies are:

Electrode coating in roll-to-roll process

Hydrophilic / hydrophobic structures on stainless steel surface
- Chemical vapor deposition at atmospheric pressure (AP-CVD)
- Plasma processing of surfaces at atmospheric pressure
- Spray coating from the liquid phase
- Application of pastes and dispersions using roll-to-roll processes
Service offer in the area of surface technology
- consulting, for example supporting the selections of suitable surface technologies
