3D structures

3D dispenser printing is a computer- controlled method with which a paste is applied to a substrate through a needle according to specified sizes and shapes (CAD). The applied material is dried and sintered on demand.

Printed thermoelectrics

Large area deposition of conducting and insulating layers at atmospheric pressure

Thin layers are applied on planar substrates using spray-pyrolysis processes. By this means homogeneous layers with excellent properties, e.g. consisting of doped aluminum or zinc oxide, can be deposited.

Characterization of electrical and thermoelectric properties

The Printing Team at Fraunhofer IWS uses high precision metrology to determine electrical properties of different materials. Electric conductivity and the Seebeck coefficient of layer and bulk materials can be measured between room temperature and 900 K.
