Individualized parts of high complexity can be fabricated by means of 3D printing technologies as well as by laser and electron beam-assisted manufacturing techniques.

Efficient thermoelectric generators and energy storage devices can be applied as universally employable and maintenance-free power supplies. Combined with sensors they operate in an energy self-sufficient manner and are thus highly suitable for monitoring tasks for example health monitoring.
