1. Registration and contracting

Registration can be done online using the registration form, which can be downloaded from the event's website at www.iws.fraunhofer.de/en/events/lithium-sulfur-batteries/registration.html. A separate registration form must be completed for each participant. For better planning we ask you to register within the specified registration period.

Once the online registration has been completed, the participant will receive an electronic registration confirmation to the e-mail address provided. This information does not constitute the contract yet. Participation is subject to the express confirmation of your registration per e-mail issued by Fraunhofer IWS. This e-mail includes the participation fee and the payment details.

 

2. Event contents

The event’s contents can be found in the program, which can be downloaded from www.iws.fraunhofer.de/en/events/lithium-sulfur-batteries.html.

The Fraunhofer IWS reserves the right to change the schedule or the content of the program if necessary and if the subject of the event is not restricted. The Fraunhofer IWS strives to inform participants about the respective changes promptly via the event website or e-mail.

 

3. Services

The scope of the contractual service is determined by the event's information documents, the registration form and the organizer's confirmation of participation. Travel and accommodation costs are not included. Hotel recommendations for the event are listed on the event website. The booking of hotel accommodation is carried out individually by each participant.

If the participant does not fully or partially use services properly offered, there is no entitlement to a refund of the participation fee.


4. Participation fee and payment

The participation fee and the costs for any additional offers, such as evening events, can be found in the service description of the event, see Section 3.

The payment of the participation fee is effected by bank transfer and is due within 14 days after receipt of the invoice without deduction. Decisive is the date of receipt of payment on the Fraunhofer IWS‘ account. Partial payments are not possible.

 

5. Cancellation

A cancellation by the participant can only be done in written form and has to be sent to info@iws.fraunhofer.de exclusively. Until June 5, 2020 a cancellation is possible free of charge, already paid participation fees will be refunded. For cancellations after June 5, the full participation fee will be charged.

If a participant is unable to attend the event, he or she may nominate a substitute free of charge.

 

6. Cancellation of the event and withdrawal

The Fraunhofer IWS reserves the right to cancel events if the number of participants is too low or in cases of force majeure. In this case, participants will be offered an alternative date as far as possible. If there is no suitable alternative date, the participant can withdraw from the booking free of charge. Already paid participation fees will be refunded. A claim for reimbursement of travel and accommodation expenses as well as loss of working hours is excluded.

Fraunhofer IWS is entitled to withdraw from the participation contract without the need for a reminder and deadline if the participation fee is not paid within the period specified in Section 4.

 

7. Copyrights and rights of use

The materials obtained during the event are protected by copyright. Distribution, exhibition, disclosure to the public, reproduction and duplication – with the exception of acts of reproduction for exclusively private purposes within the meaning of § 53 UrhG – are only permitted with the express consent of the Fraunhofer IWS.

 

8. Pictures/photos

The Fraunhofer IWS is entitled to produce photographic material during the event, on which the participants may be depicted, and to use and publish the photographic material for the purposes of documentation, for accompanying or subsequent reporting, and for subsequent application for this event, as well as for public relations work, or to make it available to third parties (e.g. the press) for the aforementioned purposes.

 

9. Liability

A liability for damages, which occur during the arrival and departure to the event locations, as well as for losses and accidents is excluded.

 

10. Final provisions

Should one or more regulations of these participation conditions be or become ineffective, the effectiveness of the remaining regulations is not affected thereby.

The law of the Federal Republic of Germany shall apply to the exclusion of conflict of laws provisions.

 

11. Information

Insofar as the fulfillment of contractual obligations of the Fraunhofer IWS requires approval due to national, European, US American or international regulations of foreign trade law including embargos (and/or other sanctions), the fulfillment of the contract shall be subject to the approval of the competent authorities. The Fraunhofer IWS shall not be liable for any contractual or other infringement of obligations arising from failure to grant approval. The same shall apply if the performance of the contract should be prohibited by the aforementioned provisions.
