  • Successful and reproducible laser gas nitriding generation of thick wear resistant surface zones on different titanium alloys (Ti-6Al-4V, cp-Ti, SP700)
  • Understanding structural details, which determine their properties, allows the further development of processes to manufacture crack-free surface zones
  • Reducing or avoiding the formation of titanium nitride opens up the possibility to achieve high long-term fatigue resistance, which makes the process applicable to cyclically highly loaded parts
