Equipment

2 ultrasonic fatigue testing machines (f ≈ 20 kHz)

  • High frequency fatigue testing up to 108 – 1010 load cycles
  • Material specific sample geometries (round or flat samples)
  • Already tested geometries: 100Cr6, Ti-Leg., Ni based alloys, Al alloys, various steels

2 electromagnetic resonance pulsators (f ≈ 1.000 Hz)

  • Technical data: Fmax ≤ 50 kN
  • Testing of material samples and components
  • Operational test conditions (temperature, oil bath, salt fog, etc.)

1 electromagnetic resonance pulsator (40 Hz ≤ f ≤ 250 Hz)

  • Technical data: Fmax ≤ 100 kN
  • Testing of material samples and components
  • Operational test conditions (temperature, oil bath, salt mist, etc.)


Application

  • High frequency fatigue testing of material samples and components in the HCF and VHCF range (load cycles up to 1010)
  • Determination of fatigue strength under operational test conditions of different states, manufacturing parameters etc. by means of HF fatigue testing
  • Single stage testing, bloc-program testing
  • Load increase tests, staircase tests, fatigue tests with holding times
  • Tension/compression tests
  • Fatigue crack growth, da/dN, determination of fracture toughness
